Change what you call your documents
You can change the word Apropos uses for your documents — from proposal to bid, estimate, or quote — from the Document terminology setting. Only an organization admin can change it, the choice applies across your whole account, and documents you've already sent keep the label they had when you sent them.
Change the document name
The control lives in Settings under the tab named after your current document term, so the tab may read Proposals, Quotes, Estimates, or Bids depending on what you've chosen.
Open Settings from the admin sidebar.
Open the tab that shows your current document term (initially Proposals).
In the Document terminology card, open the Call documents a... selector.
Choose Proposal, Quote, Estimate, or Bid.
The change saves the moment you select an option — there is no separate Save button. While it saves, the selector is disabled and shows Saving..., then confirms with Documents will now be called "quote" (or whichever term you chose).
Only admins can access this setting. If you don't see the Document terminology card, ask an admin on your account to make the change.
Where the new name appears
The term you choose replaces "proposal" across your account's document workflow: the main navigation, the Settings tab, document lists, the New and Edit document headings, the builder, previews, your dashboard, and the Contacts view.
It also reaches client-facing surfaces. Sent documents, client review pages, and proposal emails use the term, and PDF titles and headings carry it. Your document numbers pick up a matching prefix: PROP for proposals, QUOTE for quotes, EST for estimates, and BID for bids.
Documents you've already sent keep their label
Changing the term does not rename anything you've already sent. Each sent document keeps the label it had when it went out, so a client who received a proposal still sees it called a proposal even after you switch to quote. Only new and unsent documents use the new term.
How the term is chosen at first
When you set up your account, your trade picks the initial term for you — bids for general contracting, quotes for electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, estimates for painting and landscaping, and proposals for water treatment and other trades. The Document terminology setting is how you change that later, independently of your trade.
