Log a customer change request
Log a change request to record revisions a customer asked for by phone or another method instead of the proposal link, so you can reopen the proposal, edit it, and send a revised version.
When to use Log Change Request
Use Log Change Request when a customer asks for changes outside the customer-facing proposal page — for example by phone, email, or in person. It records the request on the customer's behalf. When the customer requests changes from the proposal link itself, they use Request changes instead, which notifies you automatically.
Log the change request
Log the request from the proposal's Actions menu. The note is required and must be at least 10 characters.
Open the proposal and click Actions.
Click Log Change Request.
Enter a note of at least 10 characters describing what the customer asked to change.
Click Log Change Request to confirm.
What happens when you log a request
Logging the request reopens the proposal for editing, so you can make the changes the customer asked for. No email or notification is sent to the customer automatically, so you'll want to resend the revised proposal once it's ready.
The request is recorded in the proposal's activity history as logged on behalf of the customer, with the note you entered.
Revise and resend the proposal
Edit the proposal to reflect the customer's requested changes, then send the revised version.
Make your edits to the reopened proposal.
Open the Actions menu and click Send Revised to create and send a new version to the customer.
See Create and send a proposal for the full send flow.
