Interactive quoting

Interactive quoting — letting a client edit quantities or prices and watch the total update live — isn't available in Apropos yet. The supported way to gather client preferences before you finalize is to structure your proposal into option sections and collect feedback through Request changes.

Structure your proposal into option sections

Sections let you present the base scope, any alternatives, and add-ons as separate, clearly labeled parts of the proposal, each with its own subtotal.

1. In the proposal editor's Items area, click Add section. A new section appears named New Section and enters rename mode.

2. Rename the section to describe the option or alternative it holds.

3. Click Add item to add catalog items to the section.

4. Use Move up and Move down to order the sections the way you want the client to read them.

Each section with at least one item shows a Subtotal, so the client sees the cost of each option on its own.

Send the proposal for client review

Clients review through a link they receive by email, with no account or app required.

1. Send the proposal to the client.

2. The client opens the link and sees each section as a labeled subsection with its own subtotal, in the order you set.

Empty sections are hidden from the client, and items you didn't place in a section appear before the named sections.

Collect feedback with Request changes

Clients can't edit your line items, but they can tell you exactly what to adjust through Request changes.

1. The client clicks Request changes and enters their comments under Your comments.

2. Comments must be at least 10 characters.

3. The client clicks Send to the sender.

4. In your proposal editor, you see a callout with the client's name and their comment.

Revise and resend the proposal

When a client has requested changes, the proposal unlocks and the send action becomes Send Revised.

1. Edit the proposal to reflect the client's feedback.

2. Click Send Revised.

3. A new version is created, the old version is superseded, and the client receives the revised proposal.
